Meetings and Lectures for 2010

January 10th, at 2.00 PM
In place of our regular January meeting we will be having a “Send Off Party” for Bonnie at the home of Galen and Amy Goss.  All Old Dominion members are invited to the send off on Sunday, January 10, 2010.  We will get started at 2:00 p.m. and finish up around 5:00 p.m.
Bonnie Mirmak has been a member of ODCS for 27 years.  During that time she has held and/or done just about every job there is in Old Dominion.  She has been President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Show Chair, and Supply Chair.  She has written more articles for our newsletter than anyone can count, has distributed the newsletter, worked on plant selection, potting, and the plant sale.  She has entered and won awards for many, many plants and has been our leader in the design area – as an entrant and organizer.  It is difficult to identify what she has not done.  On top of that, she has always done whatever task it was in an excellent fashion.  Bonnie has received the ODCS “Member of the Year” Award twice, the “Nels and Ginny Johnson Award for Outstanding Service,” and an NCS Outstanding Service Award for her service to Old Dominion.

We hope that all those members who have worked with Bonnie over the years will be able to attend.  If you are new to Old Dominion and have not gotten to know Bonnie, come also and meet the many members of the chapter.  Please join us in wishing Bonnie all of the best as she starts her new adventure in North Carolina.
The slides of new introductions and 2009 show winners that would have been shown at the January meeting will be shown at the February meeting.
Please let Galen and Amy know if you will be attending by phone at 703-978-7981 or e-mail at gossg@verizon.net.  Responses should be made by Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
